Excellent condition wire wheel. Restored by "James" of Borrani Wire Wheel many years ago (southern Calif). Although never used, showing "shelf wear".... I would rate 8 (of 10).
Rim Material:Alloy Rim Diameter:15 Rim Width:6.5

Here we have a good used 6.5 inch x 15 inch  3801 Borrani wire wheel as used on various Italian cars, namely Ferrari 250 GTEs of the early 1960's. Also retrofitted on earlier model 250 coupes, cabriolets, spyders spiders instead of 16 inch wheels.  This wheel was restored by "James" of Borrani Wire Wheel in Marina del Rey California many years ago, and never used.  Showing "shelf wear.".  Has original stampings.   3801 6.5 x 15 The stampings are faint, but show the wheel has only been rebuilt once.  The spokes are tight. The hub shows excellent splines.  I would rate this a high end "driver"  condition wheel, but not concours.  Has a few rim scratches. Could use polish.  Please ask questions before bidding.  Sorry no returns, sold "AS IS"......

Louis Vuitton Classic Concours d'Elegance 2004

Fri, 11 Jun 2004

June 11, 2004 - While the British Motor Show seems to have degenerated into a low-brow car carnival, shunned by some manufacturers and most designers, Britain still hosts some of the best classic car events in Europe that can attract top entries and enthusiasts alike. Last week, the 14th Louis Vuitton Classic was held at Waddesdon Manor, near Oxford, UK, a fabulous Renaissance-style chateau built by the Rothschilds in 1874 and set in 2500 acres of landscaped grounds. This year the event was open to the public for the first time and appeared to challenge the celebrated Goodwood Festival of Speed for the sheer quality of exhibits, number of celebrities and a suitably glamorous setting.

Ford Focus is the best selling car…in the world

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

It’s a big feather in Ford’s cap and vindication of their ‘One Ford’ global product strategy, which has finally seen Ford realise that the world wants the cars it makes and designs in Europe. Focus sales rose in the US by 40 per cent in 2012 (a market Ford would have declared completely unsuitable for a relatively compact European hatch a decade ago) and China accounted for a massive one in four of all Focus sold, a rise of 51 per cent, making the Focus the best-selling passenger car in China. Not only did the Focus take the best selling car (actually, best selling nameplate), the Ford Fiesta did well to, coming in sixth on Polk’s list with a not insignificant 723,130 registrations around the world.

Cummins works on a 28-mpg diesel with V8 power for pickups

Thu, 26 May 2011

Cummins Inc. is developing a four-cylinder diesel engine aimed at giving full-sized, light-duty pickups the power of a small V-8 and overall fuel economy of 28 mpg. The project began in September using the Nissan Titan pickup, which is being used to test the engine, pickuptruck.com reports.
