The racer ran the production car's powertrain: a 292bhp V6 petrol engine supplemented by 197bhp from an electric motor. This petrol-electric hybrid delivers the power of a V8, but with combined fuel consumption closer to that of a four-cylinder engine.

The night before the International CES opens, there's something like a mini consumer-electronics show held in a hotel on the Vegas strip. True, there are many, many CES-related events held in hotels on the Vegas strip. An all0new car from the small scale Italian manufacturer, the Huayra does its bit for climate change. By downsizing from the AMG-sourced 7.0-liter V12 to a new 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, the Huayra sees an increase in power whilst lowering emissions.
