Ford's forgotten T-Drive program

Digital boss Andy Stoy recently passed along this little piece of nearly forgotten Ford history from the early 1990s. We know that our girl Murilee Martin dug this up way back in 2010, but the wonder of the Ford T-Drive system is worth revisiting. According to Drivingenthusiast.com, “T-drive is a system consisting of a transversally located inline engine, a transmission and associated packaging.” The transmission is mounted to the side of the engine, or the back, depending on how you look at things.

We know that people are shying away from ultra expensive and powerful cars at the moment, but the idea of an Aston Martin that was cheap to run and very, very small seemed a step to far. McLaren celebrates 50 years at Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance

The company that revolutionized motorsport will celebrate 50 years at the 19th annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance this coming March. Five decades of classic McLaren racers will be on display, including honoree Jochen Mass' 1977 McLaren M23 Formula One racer as a part of the “Cars of Jochen Mass” class. McLaren earned its reputation by not only dominating the motorsport world, but also through relentless pursuit of more speed and technology.
