GM to invest $2 billion in 17 plants
Tue, 10 May 2011General Motors said Tuesday that it will invest about $2 billion in 17 plants across eight states in the United States. Electric-car start-up aims to keep NUMMI open with zero-emission vehicles

Aurica has been negotiating the plan with New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. for the past three months, Aurica General Manager Matt Pitagora said in a phone interview late Wednesday.
Fiat dual-clutch transmissions are planned for North American products
Thu, 05 Nov 2009During the next five years, Chrysler Group's powertrain lineup will be transformed from one dominated by larger-displacement engines to one dominated by Fiat-derived four-cylinder engines, V6s and, eventually, electric vehicles. Chrysler also said Wednesday that it will add Fiat-designed dual-clutch transmissions in its North American products. The company also will launch its new Pentastar V6 engine on the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the second quarter next year, said Paolo Ferrero, Chrysler's powertrain chief.
