It looks like BMW are going to be rolling out their new sub-M range of cars across the entire BMW range. We’ve already had the big diesel bruisers of the new M Performance Range – the M550d, X5 M50d and X6 M50d – revealed ahead of Geneva – and news of the M Performance Parts for the 1 Series.

In the mid ‘60s, under Jean-Luc Lagardere's ambitious direction, the company bought Automobiles Rene Bonnet to expand its portfolio with street and racing cars. The first model solely developed by Matra was the bonkers, but brilliant, 1967 M530, which took its name from the company's surface-to-air missile the R530.

Sun, 20 Jul 2014German Grand Prix (2014): RESULT The plan by Mercedes to get a one-two on the grid at the German Grand Prix went awry when Hamilton crashed out in qualifying, but Nico Rosberg starts his – and Mercedes – home Grand Prix in pole position, even if poor Lewis Hamilton languishes at the back of the grid after his brake failure in qualifying. So the 2014 German Grand Prix should be about Hamilton’s quest to reach the Williams cars in second and third, and Rosberg’s disappearance in to the distance. Which it is, but with knobs on.
