As we told you on Saturday, Fiat intended unveiling the new convertible 500 - The Fiat 500C – today, and here we have the first official images of the car. As we expected, the 500C gets a full-length canvas roof, with the C pillars staying in place to keep the cost down and add strength. Mercedes has revealed the facelift for the 2013 E Class Convertible and Coupe – adding to the Saloon and Estate updates we saw in December. The changes to the E-Class Coupe and Convertible are similar to those on the estate and saloon, with new single headlights instead of the E-Class’s familiar double headlights (although the LED running lights up the middle of the headlight conspire to make it look like it still has twin lights), new bumpers and LED tail lights. But the E-Class Coupe and Convertible don’t the sheet metal changes the saloon an d estate get, so the Coupe and Convertible retain the pontoon rear haunches to set them apart from the four-door E-Class models.

'Selfless' motorway victim hailed

THE FAMILY of a Good Samaritan who was killed after coming to the aid of another man on a motorway have describe him as "generous and selfless". Spencer Bell, 71, from Bushey, Hertfordshire, had stopped to assist a man who had fallen from the Bucknalls bridge over the M1 near junction 5 at about 10.45am yesterday when he was struck by a vehicle. Hertfordshire Police confirmed the man who fell from the bridge was Alan Trethewey, 67, from Watford.
