Honda NSX GT to go racing – before the NSX even hits showrooms

The Honda NSX Concept-GT (pictured) is going racing The new Honda NSX is finally getting close to a production reality, but it won’t actually arrive until 2015, even though order books are now open. But in a somewhat odd move, Honda has revealed another NSX today – the NSX Concept-GT – with which it plans to go racing. And it plans to go racing now, not in 2015 or 2016 when the new NSX is in Honda showrooms.

Jaguar XJ preview (Video)

Ian Callum stars in this video to the left - a preview of the forthcoming Jaguar XJ set to make its debut on July 9th this year. In his words: "The car is very modern, and it certainly meets up the expectations of people who understand design with a capital D, I have no doubt about that whatsoever." He asserts that the lines of the car have been reinterpreted in a different way "that actually is right and correct for the 21st century.

Land Rover confirms end of Defender production

It's been all but a foregone conclusion for some time now, but Land Rover has confirmed to our sister publication Automotive News Europe that the aging Defender won't live to see 2020. Originally conceived as an agricultural machine, the first Land Rover prototype used scavenged Willys Jeep bits left over from World War II. American kids of a certain age may have been captivated by the Land Rover's mystique while watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom back in the '70s.
