THIS AUCTION IF FOR 2 TWO AFTERMARKET NEW HONDA CB400 CB450 INSULATOR CARBURETOR HOLDERS FITS YEARS 78/UP, also fit CM400 and CM450 (WON'T FIT THE CM400a-CM450a automatic it has different carbs) WONT FIT THE CMX 

 they will also fit 1970-71 vintage CB450 Honda's as well. But they require you to drill one of the holes out a little so that the holes line up perfectly between the flanges on the cylinder head and the intake boot. The reason for this is that the rubber is a little thick inside the bolt holes and offsets the alignment by about 2mm or so, how to do that with many thanks to my customer Phil ebay Id philip3074 (20)

To install the new carb insulator boots on a late 60s or early to mid 70s CB450, you need to use a 1/4 inch carbide or titanium hardened drill bit to ream the holes out towards the center of the boot. You only need to remove about 1/32 of material from each hole in order to make it work. The best way to get it right is to remove a little bit and then insert the mounting bolts and slip the gasket on to ensure that the alignment is correct. Once you have that aligned properly, the boots should bolt on perfectly. Before you bolt them on, make sure that you have them oriented right as the boot collar angles up or down depending on which way you install them. On this application they should angle downward to compensate for the upward offset of the engine flanges. Make sure to use flat washers on the mounting bolts to equally distribute the pressure on the flanges of the carb boots as they have a thick, but pliable rubber coating. This will ensure that you have a tight, fit and no air leaks between the engine flanges and the carb boots

TIPS AND ADVICE

Tabs may need to be sanded or a bit warped if you got a air gap (angle donward to compensate alignment issue) at the engine flanges, Threebond liquid gasket yamabond or Yamabond #5 recommended to seal to the head, use flat washers on the mounting bolts to equally distribute the pressure on the flanges of the carb boots as they have a thick but pliable rubber coating

Hey, man! The boots fit my 82 Nighthawk 450 PERFECTLY. They weren't the EXACT part, but who cares? My old boots had a little steel reinforcement, but honda doesn't even make them anymore, so yours are the best alternative out there. I got them 2 days after I ordered them, which was a good surprise.

The 2010 Mercedes E Class Estate launches in the UK this week The 2010 Mercedes E Class Estate has hit the UK this week, with the E Class Estate going on sale for the first time, with versions ranging from the E 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY right up to the range topping E63 AMG Estate and prices from £29,785 up to a rather large £73,855. But it’s not just the price that’s large – at least on the E63 AMG – it’s the E Class Estate itself. It is quite simply cavernous, offering 696 litres of load space with the seats up and 1950 litres with the seats down.

Koenigsegg can take the P1, LaFerrari & Huayra with the Agera R

Koenigsegg believe that the Agera R has more than the measure of the new toys at Geneva – LaFerrari and McLaren P1 – and Pagani’s Huayra lap at Top Gear was a farce. But a car that was also at Geneva was the Koenigsegg Hundra, Koenigsegg’s one-off special to celebrate 100 Koenigseggs built since Christian von Koenigsegg started bolted his immense supercars together in a shed in Sweden a decade ago. So we thought it would be interesting to chat to Koenigsegg people – including Koenigsegg’s UK dealer Supervettura –  and get their thoughts on the new batch of supercars that could perhaps take some gloss off the offerings from Koenigsegg.
