Mercedes-Benz considering Aston Martin buyout

Mercedes-Benz is reportedly considering a deal to buyout sports car manufacturer Aston Martin, fuelling rumours that the canned Aston Martin Lagonda SUV concept from 2009 (pictured above) could once again be back on. The move would see Merc increase its current 5% stake in the British brand following a deal announced last year to supply AMG engines for Aston’s next generation of sports cars. Toyota will pay NHTSA fine, adds to recalls

Toyota has stayed at the top of the news in the last few days. The Japanese automaker agreed to pay the record $16.4 million fine the U.S. Transportation Department levied against it, even as it scrambled to fix the Lexus GX 460 that Consumer Reports said was unsafe to drive.

Porsche future products: Small SUV, entry-level roadster in the plan

Porsche plans a major expansion of its product range by the middle of the decade. CEO Matthias Mueller has promised at least one new model a year, starting with the redesigned 911 that arrives in February. An SUV that is smaller than the Cayenne will be added, along with an entry-level roadster.
