Nissan Juke (2010): the crossover née Qazana
Thu, 07 Jan 2010By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 07 January 2010 10:36 Nissan has just released this solitary teaser photo of the new Nissan Juke – the production name for the concept car formerly known as Qazana. It's our first official look at the Juke, which we had scooped over Christmas. It'll be Nissan's third crossover in Europe, slotting into the line-up beneath the Qashqai and Murano.
New VW Golf Mk6 (2008): leaked pictures
Mon, 04 Aug 2008By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 04 August 2008 12:57 This is Volkswagen’s new Mk6 Golf, and these first pictures have been leaked onto the internet by a foreign website ahead of the new Golf's official unveiling later this week. Mechanical details are still scant but it's clear that in the looks department the Scirocco has had a small influence. At best though, the Golf Mk6's design could only be described as evolutionary.
Peugeot 2008 Crossover: UK price from £12,995
Thu, 02 May 2013That meant the Urban Crossover Concept from Geneva in 2012 turning in to the new Peugeot 2008 at the start of 2013 – before heading to Geneva 2013 for its public debut – and with that other French car maker, Renault, going a similar route with the Clio-based Captur, it’s clear the French see the future of compact cars moving away from hatchbacks to something more rugged. But unlike the Captur – which was a bit of a disappointing looking Clio on stilts – the Peugeot 2008 does look a more convincing offering, even if it’s a more generic-looking compact SUV than the Nissan Juke and would, for our money, be the pick over the Captur. Peugeot are targeting 8,000 sales a year in the UK for the 2008, and with prices starting at £12,995 and heading up to around £19,000 it seems, if anything, a quite modest target, especially as Peugeot reckons 65 per cent of 2008 customers will be new to the brand.
