FAQ’s

Q)

Are all of your fuel injectors really “BRAND NEW” parts?

A)

I specialize in selling Brand New injectors at extremely low prices, but also offer a few Factory Remanufactured part numbers. All of my Ebay listings are prominently, clearly and accurately described as either “Brand New OEM Injectors”, “Brand New Injectors” or as “Factory Remanufactured Injectors”.  Every Factory Remanufactured Injector I sell is a genuine OEM part, professionally rebuilt with state-of-the-art equipment to meet all original electrical and fuel flow specifications. Since most of the NEW injectors I sell are purchased in bulk and/or large tote quantities directly from the manufacturers, they are NOT individually boxed, unless noted as such.  As a final Quality Control measure, every injector we ship, including Brand New injectors, are 100% bench tested before shipment to the customer.  This includes a final Spray Pattern Test performed with an industry approved, non toxic, fuel injector Test Solvent ... it is NOT gasoline and it does NOT indicate that the injectors are “used”.

Q)

How can you sell BRAND NEW fuel injectors so cheap?

A)

I get asked this question often. Having been in the Auto Parts business for over 40 years, I’ve worked for Warehouse Distributors, owned & operated Retail Auto Parts Stores, served in a Regional and National Management capacity for three Major Auto Parts Manufacturers and also founded a pioneer Internet Auto Parts web site in 1998. I am now retired.  Selling on Ebay is a fun hobby business for me as a part-time associate/broker for the # 2 Fuel Injector Remanufacturing Company in the U.S. We purchase large quantities of BRAND NEW injectors and other fuel system components directly from the OE manufacturers here, in Japan and Europe. As veterans of the auto parts industry, we know where & how to buy in quantity, and there are some incredible deals available to the insiders!   It is common practice for reputable rebuilders to purchase NEW parts and package them in their “Remanufactured” boxes. This is done out of necessity when rebuildable cores (used parts) are not readily available to maintain a good “order fill” percentage for their repeat wholesale customers.  Additionally, some fuel injectors simply can not be remanufactured with any degree of reliability due to inherent design flaws, therefore, NEW parts must be sold for these applications.  We also periodically buy overstocks & “stock lift” inventories of Aftermarket parts from Warehouse Distributors and Retail Parts Stores. Since there are THOUSANDS of part numbers required to cover the fuel injector universe we can only buy whatever part numbers of Brand New Injectors are available at the time. We buy on an “as needed or as available” basis. Please note that we absolutely do NOT buy or sell any cheap Chinese “knock-off” parts or any Aftermarket brand that is less than OEM Quality or Better parts ... period!

Q)

How do I know that these parts are correct for my vehicle?

A)

Every part I sell on Ebay is thoroughly researched and cross referenced using Wrenchhead’s NexCat electronic database. NexCat is a professional & expensive Subscription Only electronic auto parts catalog and information database service used nationwide by major auto parts manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. Please note that all car companies are notorious for superceding and duplicating OE parts with new part numbers when in fact, the parts are identical and/or are completely interchangeable. The number stamped in or printed on a fuel injector is NOT necessarily the OE part number. It can also be a component or casting/molding number. Design changes & minor modifications are also common over a part’s application cycle, resulting in multiple part numbers that are the same specs.  We also sell some fuel injectors that may have a different appearance than your OE parts but are the same vital electrical & flow specs as your original injectors. Those applications are noted so accordingly in their listings.  Some injectors may have different overall dimensions but the vital dimensions (seat to seal), flow, electrical specs and connectors are correct. Don’t just assume that because the injector “looks different” that it will not work.  Example: I offer Brand New Denso (and sometimes Bosch) injectors for certain GM cars that are truly an “upgrade” part for the OE Multec style injectors, which were manufactured by Delphi ... but they look a bit different.  The bottom line is that if we list a part as fitting your particular vehicle, it will fit and perform as well as or better than the parts you remove … Guaranteed!

Q)

What is the difference in a BRAND NEW OEM part and a BRAND NEW AFTERMARKET part?

A)

OEM parts are made by several different fuel injector manufacturers contracted by the car companies to supply them. Most, but not all, OE injectors are now made by Delphi, Bosch, Siemens-Deka, JECS and Lucas. Aftermarket injectors are manufactured by several companies such as Standard Motor Products, BWD, Python and others. Not all aftermarket parts are equal in quality or fit. Some my look altogether different than the OE design but install & work just fine. Some companies, such as Standard Motor Products manufacture & supply OEM injectors for particular vehicles as well as manufacture a complete product line of injectors for other vehicles that they were not OE suppliers for.  This makes SMP an OE injector company AND an Aftermarket company. I

know it’s confusing but that’s the way the business works!   Ford, GM, Chrysler and other car companies DO NOT make most of the parts for their vehicles. Generally they design, style and manufacture the car’s bodies & engines and contract out all other components, fuel & electrical, electronic accessories, rubber & plastic molded trim, windshield wiper systems, lighting, bearings, exhaust systems, suspension parts, wheels, upholstery, on and on ... to their design specifications. Many years ago the car companies owned most of their sub-supplier manufacturing plants such as GM’s Divisions: AC (filters), Delco (electrical), Rochester (fuel system), Packard (wire & cable) ND/Hyatt (bearings).  But, that’s all changed now as cars are truly “World Cars” assembled with components manufactured by independent suppliers all around the globe.

As previously mentioned, I do not sell any aftermarket parts that are less than OE Specs & Quality parts. Absolutely NO cheap Chinese knock-off wanna-be stuff!  It’s out there … but Caveat Emptor ... Buyer Beware!

One final note regarding fuel injector brands: DELCO is not a fuel injector manufacturer. In fact they do make any parts ... period. It is now an independent marketing company, a name on a box only. GM sold off all their wholly-owned parts factories, along with the rights to those brands years ago. If you buy a DELCO part for a GM built vehicle it is supplied by the actual OE manufacturer. However, DELCO parts fitting NON GM built vehicles are purchased from several other companies, many of which are simply the lowest cost source of that part.

If you have any questions about any part I list or are concerned about physical appearances being different, just email me before ordering for a professional & specific reply.

Q)

I want to buy your fuel injectors since they are such a great deal but am not sure how to install them. What do you suggest?

A)

First and foremost, do not attempt to install fuel injectors if you are not capable of the job. Most of my buyers are advanced “Do-it-yourselfers” or qualified Professional Installers. Some buyers have friends with similar capabilities to do the install for them. If you are planning on buying the parts yourself and taking them to a Professional to do the installation, PLEASE check with the Service Manager or Owner of the shop you intend to use and tell them that you will supply the parts AND read this message first:

Taking your own parts into a Car Dealer or Professional Installer

According to many in the “Professional Trade” taking your own parts into a Car Dealer or Professional Installer is like taking two eggs, four strips of bacon and two pieces of toast into your local restaurant and expecting a huge discount because you supplied the food. It is considered unethical by most pros and is in fact less profitable for all Trade Professionals since they can make as much profit from the sale of parts as they do from the labor, depending on the job, of course.  A 50% + profit margin on parts sales is common practice in the auto repair industry and should be expected. OEM parts purchased through a New Car Dealer are typically higher priced parts vs. Aftermarket Brand Parts.

Most repair shop Professionals are honest, hard working small business owners.  However, there is a small percentage that will resort to less than honest tactics when asked to install parts furnished by the customer. That being the case, if you plan to supply your own parts and have them installed by a commercial repair shop I highly suggest that you tell them in advance, when getting an estimate of repairs, and get all the details in writing. Many shops simply will not install parts supplied by the customer for various reasons, some legitimate, some not. Those few “less than honest” shops may agree to install your parts … BUT:

* There will be NO warranty on the job, whatsoever, including their labor charges.

* Tell you that the parts you supplied are NOT the right parts or that they’re inferior

quality and refuse to install them after your car is in the shop. This leaves you with a

disassembled vehicle in their shop and no choice but to buy their parts anyway.

* Overcharge you for labor (to cover the lost profit on parts sales)

* Install your parts but do so improperly (sabotage?) leaving you in a very bad

situation and in the process “Teaching you a lesson”.  Yes, that HAS actually

  happened!

What I can assure you of, with complete confidence, is that the parts you buy from me are correct for the vehicles I have them listed for. The exception would be previously modified vehicles or possible engine swap situations ... which are beyond my crystal ball’s capabilities to divine.

Jaguar F-Type fleet in Union Jack livery promote ‘Best of British’

Mon, 12 Aug 2013

A fleet of ‘Union Jack’ Jaguar F-Types (pictured) are touring the UK It all started with Top Gear’s ‘Best of British’ line-up of all things British Automotive on the Mall back in June, which aired a week ago as the finale to Series 20 of Top Gear. That piece was put together on the back of Top Gear’s testing of the new Range Rover Sport and the new Jaguar F-Type, with Top Gear managing to drag all manner of motorised vehicles to the Mall to celebrate proper British success. With the Jaguar F-Types sitting proudly at the front of the assembled ‘Best of British’, Jaguar’s PR machine wisely decided there was mileage in the whole ‘Best of British’ thing, so they’ve launched a competition with the hashtag #YourTurnBritain.

BAC Mono moves to Liverpool

Wed, 10 Jul 2013

The BAC Mono with brothers Brigg & Mayor of Liverpool (pictured) The BAC Mono is in the public eye this week after its impressive performance on Top Gear, but even without the publicity from Top Gear the brothers Brigg were already doing very well with the Mono. So well, they’ve been looking for new premises to continue their growth and have settled on a move from Cheshire to Liverpool (just up the road) and a new facility on the Speke Hall Industrial Estate in South Liverpool is set to become the new home of the Mono. BAC’s new home in Speke will be up and running by the autumn, will create an additional 60 jobs in the local economy – and more in the supply chain – and is expected to turn out more than 100 Monos a year by 2015.

Ford 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine is 2014 International Engine of the Year – again

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

The new Fiesta Red & Black get the 140 PS Ecoboost Engine of the Year It’s hard to believe that the little 999cc Ford EcoBoost Engine has been around for a few years now, but that hasn’t diminished the edge it has over engines from other car makers as it takes the gong for best international engine for the third year in a row. Remarkably, the 1.0 litre EcoBoost is now offering sterling service across the most unlikely vehicles, with applications in Ford’s range including the Fiesta, Focus, B-MAX, EcoSport, C-MAX and Grand C-MAX, Tourneo Connect, Grand Tourneo Connect, Transit Connect and Transit Courier. And it’ll be turning up in the new Mondeo when that arrives in a few months too.
