College Exhibition: Coventry University MA Degree Show 2009

MA students from Coventry University's School of Art and Design presented their annual degree show at Coventry Transport Museum late last month. Entitled ‘Keep Movin', the nine graduating students showed a range of projects, which centered on the theme of sustainable transportation, energy efficient vehicles and new materials. There was also a sample of an earlier group project that explored the future of the car based on the ‘Foresight Future Scenarios 2055'.

Renault working on 141mpg plug-in hybrid concept

Renault is working on a 141mpg plug-in hybrid concept car to be shown at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, according to Renault head of research, advanced studies and materials, Remi Bastien. Speaking to at Renault’s ‘Innovations’ event last year – showcasing the French manufacturer’s new technology that will underpin its next-generation models – Bastien revealed the new car will make its debut in 2014. German enthusiasts name TechArt GrandGT the 'Sports Car of the Year'

For the fourth year in a row, readers of German car magazine Auto Bild have selected the TechArt GrandGT as "Sports Car of the Year" in the sedan-tuning category. The GrandGT, from TechArt Automobilidesign GmbH, is based on the Porsche Panamera Turbo and packs 630 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. The additional power comes from upgraded turbochargers, sport air filters and a tuned engine-management system.
