Volvo creates Inflatable Child Seat

Volvo is a brand famously associated with safety, so let’s hope its latest effort doesn’t turn out to be a load of hot air: the Swedish brand has come up with a concept for an inflatable children’s car seat. Called the Volvo Inflatable Child Seat Concept, this does exactly what it says on the tin – it’s a child seat that instead of being made of rigid material can be deflated and folded away for easy carriage when not required. Maserati Alfieri (2016) confirmed; five-fold sales increase wanted

Following the announcement of Alfa Romeo’s plans, which see it share rear- and all-wheel drive platforms with Maserati, Wester confirmed production of Maserati’s Porsche 911 rival. The Alfieri will be offered in three guises, kicked off with a rear-drive entry-level model powered by a 410bhp V6, a mid-level 450bhp all-wheel drive version and a flagship 520bhp V6 all-wheel drive model.

Michelin Challenge Design 2013 finalists announced

The finalists of the 2013 Michelin Challenge Design global vehicle design competition have been announced with all 15 of the chosen entrants' work to be displayed at NAIAS 2013. This year's theme, 'HALF! Lightweight with Passion', asked participants to explore how design contributes to and impacts the ongoing effort to develop more efficienct vehicles, while keeping the emotional side of car design front of mind.
