For sale is this extremely rare treasure; This Randall Faichney Co, "Back Pay" Motor Oiler was manufactured for use on early model autos, sometime during the WW I era.

The Randall Faichney Co of Boston Mass was formed to make thermometers in 1888, and was known as the Faichney Instrument Co of Watertown, NY...In 1898 the company merged with Randall, a maker of syringes.

Known as a manufacturer of medical instruments and then becoming the worlds largest maker of thermometers, the company manufactured auto parts, after-market auto parts, steam whistles and many other items.

The company was purchased by major corporations, and the name disappeared in 1951.

As shown in the pictures, this brass syringe motor oiler is in excellent condition, with some nice patination. The plunger moves freely, as does the oil filler cap, which has a serial number of Z 0 8... I don't know the significance of that.

The logo and maker's mark aren't as pronounced as mint-state would be, but is certainly clearly visible.

For the aficionado of early automobiles, this is a must-have!

Tata is cranking up supply of the Nano in India to counter sluggish sales. Until now, supply has been pretty limited with sales most months struggling to break beyond four figures; hardly the breakthrough expected from the widely hyped cheapest car in the world. A new plant in Sanand recently came on stream and it has a capacity of 250,000 cars a year.
