Tue, 04 Dec 2012The Porsche Macan – the baby Cayenne – is to get a new, bold look before it launches in 2014, to make it better able to compete against the Range Rover Evoque. The Porsche Macan, Porsche’s baby Cayenne based on the underpinnings of the Audi Q5, is a big deal for Porsche. Having discovered that an SUV could revive their fortunes after they launched the Cayenne a decade ago, the smaller, lower-priced Macan should give both Porsche’s sales and profits a big boost.
GM officially bankrupt
Mon, 01 Jun 2009GM finally enters Chapter 11 Bankruptcy The US Government is to provide £30 billion to fund the transition, with GM being split in to ‘Old GM’ and ‘New GM’. In exchange for the money the US Government will take a 60% stake in ‘New GM’ with all the toxic assets and liabilities being disposed of through ‘Old GM’. The restructuring will allow GM to survive on a third less sales than before (10 million instead of 15 million).

Perhaps they decided last year – when Bentley were selling next to no cars – that shoving the Bentley logo on a range of upmarket toys was a way to bring in some much needed revenue. It was even reported at the nadir of Bentley sales that they had their craftsmen – who had nothing to do – churning out some bespoke furniture.
