The original Buick Reatta headlight assemblies worked quite well in, say, the fifteen years of their operation but beyond that use they began to fail in two areas.  The motor actuator, commonly called the crank arm, was  die cast of a relatively soft zinc material and the nano second opening and closing action caused the center of the crank arm to gradually round out and become ineffective.  Also,  due to ageing,  not usage, the torque rollers inside the motor began to crack,  get broken up and, like the crank arm, became useless.

Our NEW DESIGN  kit takes care of these deficiencies quite well.. The crank arm, the heart of the kit,  is cold formed of steel and is then CNC machined to final configuration for a perfect fit between it and the flat section of the motor shaft.. It is superior to the OE part in every way and will last the life of your car.

This is a very complete kit as all of the parts necessary to rebuild your old headlight motor are included.  There is heavy impact when the headlight assembly comes to a instant stop and we have replicated the OE impact bumper at it is injection molded in thermoplastic rubber and is available only to us.  We do not ask that you use the old part from your assembly. A new plastic, Delrin, is used the our three torque rollers (roller bushings as they are sometimes called). and they are sized identically as the OE part.  Other included parts are a distorted thread hex nut, alloy steel flat washer with the "DD" hole, an OE type link arm retainer clip, plastic insert nuts for the travel stabilizer function and a small packet of synthetic grease.

The Installation Instructions are tutorial in nature and complete.  We tell you what tools you should use, what to do with them and give you some suggestions to make the job easier. We can always be contacted at (855) REATTAS should any questions arise. We also furnish you references for Internet websites that offer excellent maintenance and repair information for your Reatta.

We ship by USPS Priority Mail with two or three day delivery dependent upon destination and we ship same or next business day.   Our charge is $6.95 for handling, insurance and postage to US destinations.  Foreign destination costs are referenced in a prior section of this listing.

You may wish to take a look at our Reatta parts listings - our RETRO-FIT headlight motor repair kit and sun visor clips for the Reatta convertibles.

Thanks for looking.

It's an attempt to stretch the Passat further upmarket - away from its humdrum fleet roots and nearer the hallowed doorway to the compact premium market.
