Jaguar executive O'Driscoll to retire in March

Mike O'Driscoll, the managing director at Jaguar Cars, has announced his plan to retire at the end of March 2011. O'Driscoll, 54, moved to the United Kingdom to lead the company's brand after Ford announced its plan to sell Jaguar and Land Rover. While there, he managed the introduction of the XF, the XK, and the XJ.

The annual Consumer Electronics Show kicks off tomorrow in Las Vegas, in the same massive convention center that held the SEMA show only a few months ago. Almost as many carmakers will come to CES as made the trek to SEMA, with seven major carmakers expected to have show stands and two big suppliers – Visteon and Delphi – showing their latest techno-stuff, too. It may seem like a strange idea for Renault to launch its Initiale Paris premium sub-brand at a German motor show, but it could turn out to be quite an astute move. The French brand is hoping to take on the Germans with Initiale Paris, so showcasing this rather wonderful concept in Frankfurt is a clear signal of intent. Renault says this Initiale Paris concept previews the next generation Espace, but we can't help but see a massive dollop of Renault Avantime when we take a wander around the car.
