Cadillac Urban Luxury Concept at LA Motor Show
Wed, 17 Nov 2010The Cadillac Urban Luxury Concept at LA We’re still finding it quite hard to get our heads round the fact that Cadillac are making appealing cars. Not just cars that appeal when we go to the former colonies and want something sybaritic to nestle in and cruise, but real cars that are actually fun to drive. Cars like the Cadillac CTS-V – particulary the CTS-V Coupe and CTS-V Wagon – are proper, grown-up cars that can keep up with much of what Europe has to offer.
David Brown Automotive promising a new luxury British sports car
Fri, 17 Jan 2014David Brown Automotive promising a new luxury British sports car The name David Brown Automotive conjures up images of the man whose initials still give us the Aston Martin DB9 – former tractor builder David Brown who bought up Aston Martin in 1947 (and subsequently Lagonda and Tickford). But this David Brown Automotive is actually a new company which promises to “…refresh the classic British sports car, for the 21st Century” with a vision for a new luxury take on the classic British Sports Car. David Brown has put together a team lead by Alan Mobberley – who was Chief Designer at Land Rover until 2005 and cropped up recently as the designer for Eterniti Motors – and has commissioned Envisage Group (the firm that bought up what was left of CPP after Vladimir Antonov’s exploits and who are building the glorious Lyonheart E-Type) to bring his dreams to life.
Sebastian Vettel takes delivery of his eponymous Infiniti FX Vettel Edition
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Sebastian Vettel `(pictured) takes delivery of his Infiniti FX Vettel Edition The Infiniti FX50 is Infiniti’s take on the Porsche Cayenne, so we suppose the FX Vettel Edition, with extra power and titivations, should be compared to the Cayenne GTS. But unlike the Cayenne GTS, the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition is a very limited edition car – just 200 are being built – and costs an eye-watering amount of money – £100,000. For your £100k you get an Infiniti FX50 that’s had a raft of titivations to let Vettel reach a higher top speed on his regular joints up the Autobahn in Germany, as well as cosmetic additions to justify the price.
