2010 Interior Motives Design Awards

The eighth annual Interior Motives Design Awards has opened for registration. Themed ‘Driving the Interior Revolution', this year's contest – hosted by our quarterly interior design publication Interior Motives – challenges design students around the world to come up with innovative designs that offer new solutions to the problems and opportunities facing vehicle designers in the 21st century. Students are tasked with creating a design that fulfills one of the following four briefs, which this year have been set by Volkswagen and Peugeot: Pay as you go (set by Volkswagen) Design a pay-as-you-go vehicle.

The second generation Mark X made its debut at the Tokyo motor show late last month, furthering the sporty and luxurious theme initiated by the outgoing model. The redesigned rear-wheel-drive sedan was created around a 'glam tech' theme at Toyota's Japanese studios, combining a modern look with high-tech features . Overall, the design of the Mark X is a subtle contrast of dynamic elements paired with understated luxury.

The Pagani Zonda Tricolore - Geneva bound (click for bigger image) We already know that Pagani are taking the Zonda Cinque Roadster #4 to shove on their stand at the Geneva Motor Show, and you can add to that what could be considered an even rarer version of the Zonda – the Pagani Zonda Tricolore. This particulay Zonda has been created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Italian equivalent of the Red Arrows – the ‘Frecce Tricolori – and ordered up by a Pagani  distributor, which almost certainly means it’s already sold – for €1.3 million. Based on the Cinque, the Zonda Tricolore gets a fancy paint job which includes stripes which mimic the colours of the Frecce Tricori.
