New tech suggests windowless cars are on the horizon
Thu, 20 Feb 2014For years students have presented windowless car projects, explaining how the view from outside would be projected within the interior. Now an aerospace company has created the technology that could hold the key to turning the dream into a reality. Spike Aerospace's upcoming S-512 supersonic business class jet replaces its windows with high-definition screens displaying footage of the panoramic views streamed live from micro cameras on its fuselage as tests have unsurprisingly shown that passengers are a little uneasy about not being able to see outside.
Toyota to sell tens of thousands of fuel cell cars a year by 2020
Wed, 07 Mar 2012Toyota FCV-R Hydrogen Fuel Cell Toyota is pushing ahead with hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and plans to be selling tens of thousands a year by 2012, starting with the Toyota FCV-R Toyota may have brought yet another hybrid concept to Geneva, and may we have moaned again about their obsession with flogging hybrid cars. But it seems Toyota do agree with us on electric cars with no plans to throw their weight behind the EV in a big way, but they are gearing up to try and do with hydrogen fuel cell cars what they’ve done with hybrid cars, and are expecting to be selling tens of thousands of fuel cell powered cars a year by 2020.
Mercedes G63 AMG: Details, photos & video
Fri, 20 Apr 2012Mercedes G63 AMG Ahead of a debut at the Beijing Motor Show next week, we have the first photos and video of the Mercedes G63 AMG. Last week we reported that Mercedes are adding a pair of AMG models to the top of the new G Class range, with the V8 G63 AMG and the G65 AMG offering astonishing performance from a car that’s been around almost as long as Bruce Forsyth. Sadly the UK won’t be getting the G65 (although if you’re mad enough to spend £250k on a G Class you can bring a LHD one in from Germany), but we will be getting the G63 AMG with the 5.5 litre bi-turbo.
