Featuring the exclusive "C&L Trueflow" intake pipe, the entire inlet tract from MAF to throttle body retains a full 76mm diameter throughout, unlike other designs that have proven to restrict airflow and hinder system performance. As an added bonus, the cast aluminum C&L Trueflow pipe comes with a boss cast into it for those wanting to use nitrous oxide without damaging the stock rubber intake hose. Dyno testing on many different naturally aspirated 5.0 Mustangs with 19lb injectors and various levels of modifications has shown a typical power gain of 13-14 rear wheel horsepower and 17 ft/lbs of torque over the stock air meter assembly with the same K&N air filter. TrueFlow inlet pipes offer three key features which have made them a
very popular bolt-on. The cast aluminum finish with blue silicone
hoses really dress up the engine compartment and is much more
attractive than the factory black rubber assembly. Due to the fact
that these pipes are cast, the inside diameter is consistent all the
way through the pipe from the air meter to the throttle body. By
eliminating the flexible ridges in the factory rubber inlet tubes and
by controlling the inside diameter for consistency, a modest
horsepower gain is achieved. When used in conjunction with our C&L 76mm Mass Air meter housing, a constant 76mm (2.992") I.D. is maintained through the entire inlet tract. This is about as large as you can get for a typical bolt-on 5.0 inlet tract. And unlike the cheap, chrome plated steel pipes the competition offers, these aluminum inlet pipes will dissipate heat much better and help keep intake air temps lower. This helps prevent the computer from pulling timing, so you can maintain the full power potential of the engine. The MAF housing that comes with this system does not have a sensor. You use the stock 89-93 Ford MAF sensor electronics, installed in the C&L 76mm housing. When purchasing this Intake System, the outlet side of the MAF housing is not machined down, like in the picture of the MAF alone. It remains as cast, so you do not need to use any reducing adapter between the MAF and the TrueFlow Inlet Pipe. The MAF housing is calibrated for use with 24 lb/hr. injectors and a conical air filter in 89-93 Mustang LX/GT 5.0 engines. To recalibrate the MAF for larger injectors, you can change the sample tube. Different sample tubes are available for 19#, 30#, 42# and other popular Ford injector sizes. Do you need a chip? Fri, 02 Jul 2010Three years after its introduction, Mercedes-Benz has given the CL a mid-cycle facelift, providing the big two-door with lightly altered bumpers--those up front with new LED daytime running lamps, reshaped headlamps, a more contoured hood, larger exterior mirrors with integrated indicators and revised tail-lamp lenses, among other detailed visual changes. More significant than the styling tweaks, however, are the changes underneath the hood, with the arrival of a new twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V8 direct-injection gasoline engine--the first of Mercedes-Benz's advanced MoVe powerplants that aim to bring efficiency gains to its lineup. With 429 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, the new engine delivers 47 hp and 125 lb-ft more than the naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 it replaces in the four-year-old CL500--enough to lower the luxury coupe's 0-to-62-mph time by 0.5 second to 4.9 seconds.
