C&L Performance Mass Air Intake System for 86-93 Mustang 5.0
76mm Mass Air Intake System, With TrueFlow Pipe, 36 - 38 LB injectors, 86-93 Mustang 5.0L. *Fits 89 - 93 Mustang 5.0 with factory mass air and 86 - 88 Mustang 5.0 with mass air conversion Our 76mm Mass Airflow Systems have fast become our most popular product for 1986-1993 Mustang V8 applications. Dyno testing and development has proven this package to be the hot item for those looking to maximize the performance on naturally aspirated 5.0L Mustang applications. Featuring the exclusive "C&L Trueflow" intake pipe, the entire inlet tract from MAF to throttle body retains a full 76mm diameter throughout, unlike other designs that have proven to restrict airflow and hinder system performance. As an added bonus, the cast aluminum C&L Trueflow pipe comes with a boss cast into it for those wanting to use nitrous oxide without damaging the stock rubber intake hose. Dyno testing on many different naturally aspirated 5.0 Mustangs with 19lb injectors and various levels of modifications has shown a typical power gain of 13-14 rear wheel horsepower and 17 ft/lbs of torque over the stock air meter assembly with the same K&N air filter. C&L
TrueFlow inlet pipes offer three key features which have made them a
very popular bolt-on. The cast aluminum finish with blue silicone
hoses really dress up the engine compartment and is much more
attractive than the factory black rubber assembly. Due to the fact
that these pipes are cast, the inside diameter is consistent all the
way through the pipe from the air meter to the throttle body. By
eliminating the flexible ridges in the factory rubber inlet tubes and
by controlling the inside diameter for consistency, a modest
horsepower gain is achieved. When used in conjunction with our C&L 76mm Mass Air meter housing, a constant 76mm (2.992") I.D. is maintained through the entire inlet tract. This is about as large as you can get for a typical bolt-on 5.0 inlet tract. And unlike the cheap, chrome plated steel pipes the competition offers, these aluminum inlet pipes will dissipate heat much better and help keep intake air temps lower. This helps prevent the computer from pulling timing, so you can maintain the full power potential of the engine. The MAF housing that comes with this system does not have a sensor. You use the stock 89-93 Ford MAF sensor electronics, installed in the C&L 76mm housing. When purchasing this Intake System, the outlet side of the MAF housing is not machined down, like in the picture of the MAF alone. It remains as cast, so you do not need to use any reducing adapter between the MAF and the TrueFlow Inlet Pipe. The MAF housing is calibrated for use with 36 to 38 lb/hr. injectors in 89-93 Mustang LX/GT 5.0 engines. To recalibrate the MAF for larger injectors, you can change the sample tube. Different sample tubes are available for 19#, 24#, 42# and other popular Ford injector sizes. Do you need a chip? We offer custom chip tuning services, and can build a custom tune for your computer for this C&L MAF or a stock MAF, any Ford Racing injectors, aftermarket cams, check engine lights, or just about anything else you need. At Ford, Smith spearheaded the automaker's 'Kinetic Design' strategy and has since presented this vision in both concept and production car form.
First Sight: Holden Torana concept
Wed, 13 Oct 2004Holden has stolen the limelight at the opening of the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, unveiling a ground-up concept car dubbed the Torana TT36. The concept revives a famous Australian nameplate from the 1970s - appropriate since, like the original Torana, it features rear wheel drive and a six cylinder engine. That's where the similarities end, however, as the new Torana's engine is an experimental 280kW/490Nm twin turbocharged version of the new global V6 Holden has begun manufacturing for various parts of the GM world and which will eventually be used by Alfa Romeo.
McLaren P1 driven by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson (video)
Fri, 11 Oct 2013McLaren P1 driven by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson (pictured) It’s only a few days since McLaren revealed the first customer P1s are now rolling out of McLaren’s clinical production facility in Woking, and it looks like Jeremy Clarkson has bagged one to play with. The video (below) shows Clarkson behind the wheel of the new P1 which, judging by the number plate, is probably one of the first customer cars on the road. The opinionated one is preceded in the video by a pair of Range Rovers – one new, one old – at least one of which is a camera car, so this drive of the Mclaren P1 is obviously heading for a TV screen soon – hopefully on Top Gear.
