Fortunately, Aston Martin has wisely decided to adopt the same name as the Quartermaster in Ian Fleming's "James Bond" novels -- a pure coincidence, we're told. Ford posts $2.4 billion profit
Tue, 26 Jul 2011Ford Motor Company reported a profit of $2.4 billion on revenues of $35.5 billion, excluding Volvo, during the second quarter, the automaker said Tuesday. A year ago, Ford posted net profits of $2.6 billion on revenue of $35.07 billion, including Volvo. Excluding Volvo, Ford's revenue in the second quarter of 2010 was $31.3 billion.

When we revealed that the US price for the new Toyota Prius plug-in was 36 per cent more than a regular Prius, we did hope that price increase would apply to the UK too. Because if Toyota were to do the same in the UK, the plug-in Prius would have come in – after the taxpayer very generously chipped in a £5k subsidy for ‘eco’ cars – at a ‘buy’ price in the UK around £2.5k more than the non plug-in Prius.
