C5 Corvette Sport Seat Repair Kit Rocking 1997 Through 2004 Block Track Shims on 2040-parts.com

This auction is for 8 NYLON spacers to repair / replace disintegrated rubber spacers in track block of rocking seat on electric power seat. Spacers must be sanded to exact width to fit into block. Top and bottom have to be ground down to prevent catching on track. These 8 spacers repair two seats.

First picture show 8 of the spacers you will receive. 2nd shows spaces being fitted to install in one track of one seat in the Aluminum Block Assembly. 3rd shows spacers being sanded to correct thickness to be installed in block. They must have a snug fit. Takes about 10 min. each. 4 shows size of screw driver I use to hold spacers on 80 grit sandpaper to size them. Last picture is 2 spacers ready to install in block and 2 that have not been modified. Notice the top and bottom have been sanded off with the edge of grinding wheel so they fit down in the block. Just a touch on the wheel will do it. You can do this by hand also but takes longer.

I just did this repair to my 2001 Vette. Can not believe how good it feels not to have the seats NOT move back and forth. Over the years it just gets a little bit more movement so you do not notice it too much. Feels almost like a new car. Dealer wanted about $6oo a seat with parts and labor. That is $1200!!!

Did this repair to a set of  2002 Chey Avalanche  Power Seats with these shims.  A bit more involved than the Corvette but a lot of directions available on line with a Google search.  Shims were sized the same way.

These will probably fit many Chey pickups but just do not know which ones.
