Cabela’s Hydro-Troll Trolling Plate – Free Shipping

Up for bid is a lightly used Cabelas Hydro-Troll Trolling Plate with Free Shipping.  I used this great trolling plate on my 4 or 5 seasons on my 16’ Smokercraft with a four-stroke 60 Hp motor and I loved it.  A few times I forgot to disengage the plate and this great unit has a brass shear pin which I sheared off twice.  No big deal as the unit still locked open in the disengaged position so you can still operate your motor with no problem, it just won’t lock down in the closed position.  I’ve always carried extra sheer pins so I just changed it out on the lake when I was stupid enough to not disengage the lever.  It took a little talent hanging off the back of the boat to install the shear pin but never fell in.

The hydrofoil design of the plate added a great deal of maneuverability to my boat and allowed the boat to get up on step quicker.

I found this trolling plate to be perfect for my boat until I boat a new 90 HP motor and installed it on my boat.  I installed this trolling plate on my 90and it worked Ok but I opted for a larger plate.  This size plate is perfect for a 40 - to 60 HP motor and you can adjust your trolling speeds by trimming your motor.  No extra pain in ass kicker motor for me!  Included with this unit is a box of 9 extra sheer pins.  These sheer pins cost $9.99 for a pack of three.

Here is info on this unit from the Cabela’s web site:

“Optimize the performance of your motor when running at full tilt as well as when slowly trolling along a breakline with one easy-to-install unit. The hydrofoil eliminates bow rise, back spray and performance draining rooster tails and directs every ounce of power to where it is most useful. The stabilizing fin also reduces porpoising and enhances handling for more efficient turning and gas usage. When you arrive at your trolling location, put the boat in neutral, pull the cord and the trolling plate locks down with the use of heavy-duty springs. The plate redirects the thrust the propeller exerts, cutting your idle speed down for precise control of your crawler harness or crankbait without the need for a separate kicker motor. When you're ready to leave, just pull the cord again while at trolling speed and the force of the propeller swings the plate back up and locks it in the running position. And to protect your lower unit in case you forget to pull the trolling plate up, the locking mechanism is outfitted with a shear pin that breaks away and lets the force of the motor push the plate up for running. The Hydro Troll also comes with an extra shear pin that can be replaced when you're on the water, so one mishap doesn't have to ruin your entire fishing day. The entire assembly attaches to your engine's cavitation plate in minutes with minimal tools. It works on both outboard and I/O motors from 25hp to 150hp. Corrosion-resistant, stainless steel mounting hardware included. Extra shear pins also are available.”

This great unit is lightly used, in excellent condition and includes all of the stainless steel mounting hardware and fast free shipping.

Ferrari 458 Challenge revealed

Fri, 03 Dec 2010

The Ferrari 458 Challenge It seems Ferrari had a bit of an issue when they decided they wanted to take the 458 Italia racing – it was just so good in standard form. So instead of giving the 458 Italia more power, they concentrated on making the 458 lighter and tighter to create the Ferrari 458 Challenge, unveiled this week in Bologna. The 458 Challenge gets exactly the same 562 horses out of its 4.5 litre V8 as the Italia.
