Saab CEO Jonsson to retire in May; search is under way for a successor

Saab owner Spyker Cars N.V. is looking for a successor to long-serving Saab CEO Jan Ake Jonsson, who will retire on May 19. Jonsson, 59, played a key role in saving Saab when former owner General Motors Co.

At a glamorous awards ceremony at the Espace Clacquesin in Paris earlier this evening, the world's top designers and automotive journalists gathered together to watch sponsors Peugeot and Volkswagen reveal the 2012 Interior Motives Student Design of the Year: ‘Autopool' by Siavash Jafari Jozani and Mina Kasirifar from the University of Tehran. At the end of what was a memorable event, the two Iranian students walked away with one of the most prestigious accolades in the automotive design industry and a cash prize of $5,000. Volkswagen mulls another SUV

Volkswagen is considering adding another crossover to its product portfolio as it takes aim at ambitious sales targets in the United States and overseas markets. “It's a part of our vision for the future,” Volkswagen Group of America CEO Jonathan Browning said. The vehicle would have SUV-style cues, and Browning said it's being discussed by company brass.
