New Jeep Grand Cherokee facelift to get European debut at Geneva
Tue, 12 Feb 2013The new Jeep Grand Cherokee will arrive at the Geneva Motor Show in EU guise in March ahead of a launch in the UK and Europe in the third quarter 2013. In all the ways that matter, the Jeep Grand Cherokee (which will be a 2014 model by the time it arrives in showrooms in the UK) for Europe is the same as that for North America, although it will have different engines, and just about all the shortcomings of the current Grand Cherokee have been addressed by the facelift. That means the cheap in places interior gets a good makeover to make the Grand Cherokee a more convincing place to be for European tastes, and the Atari-like Infotainment centre gets a proper makeover too to make it more 21st, and less 20th, century.
MG TF – finally built at Longbridge. Plus mystery MG
Mon, 02 Jun 2008By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 02 June 2008 12:18 After a series of twists, turns, delays and wildly ambitious claims more akin to a Miss Marple whodunnit, MG has finally built its first TFs at the Longbridge plant in the West Midlands. We've seen the first TF LE500 models at Longbridge and we hear they will be in dealers soon, priced at around £16,000. What's changed since the last 2005 cars? These early pre-prototypes look virtually unchanged, but now come with a body-coloured hard-top, leather seats, air-con and improved interior plastics as standard. The cars pictured here have the new standard-fit glass rear screen, wind deflector, 16in alloys in shadow chrome or satin-black finish and the new piano black interior trim and revised dials.
Toyota FT-HS Concept (2007): first official pictures
Sun, 03 Jun 2007By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 03 June 2007 02:33 Toyota FT-HS Concept: the lowdown Salvation for supercar lovers in the 21st century: Toyota has turned its hand to creating a sports coupe with green credentials - and the futuristic FT-HS Concept mixes green with mean rather well, we think. Don't believe us? Well, how about 0-60mph in four seconds and 400bhp from a 3.5-litre V6 hybrid drivetrain - in a car that runs silently on electric power through town, with nothing more troubling than an electric whirr from the quad tailpipes.
