This auction is for a 84-92 Camaro/Firebird Spohn Pro Drag Front Coil Over System Conversion Kit SP-738.

Spohn Performance's "Pro-Drag" front coil over kit sets a new, higher standard of performance and quality. When we designed our coil over system, we had two goals in mind. One was to provide the performance capabilities needed for the toughest drag strips, the second was to provide the strength and durability required for the demands of a daily driven vehicle. We're proud to say that we have accomplished both. If you are looking for the best drag race front coil over suspension system for the third generation F-Body, you just found it.

Once thought of as a race only item, coil-over suspensions are now considered the hot set-up for any highly tuned drag car. The combination of incredible weight transfer with great ride quality is what one expects from a world class drag car. With a Spohn "Pro-Drag" coil-over conversion kit you will have the no-compromise performance you demand without paying a penalty in comfort.

The "Pro-Drag" coil over system uses an extremely long (14"), yet extremely light (175#) spring for the most stored spring energy possible, providing tremendous weight transfer and an incredible launch. With the design of our system, we can use this extremely long spring, yet still allow for over 1" of ride height lowering.

Warning! All coil-over kits are not created equal. Compare the features of our kit with any other manufacturer's kit and you'll quickly see the differences. Careful attention to detail by our design team is why the Spohn coil over kit avoids the design pitfalls of others. You can always depend on Spohn Performance to provide you with the best parts for your F-Body!

Other coil over kits on the market use a top spring hat mounted against the stock upper strut mount. This places the entire weight of the front of the car on to the stock strut mount. With street driving and vehicle loads, these systems cause the stock strut mounts to distort, bend, and fatigue, ending in parts failure. The Spohn "Pro-Drag" front coil over system includes our fabricated spherical upper strut mounts combined with a lower reinforcement plate that totally sandwiches and reinforces the entire strut tower.

Fabricated Steel Spherical Upper Strut Mount Specifications:

  • CNC cut 1/4" steel base plate
  • 4" DOM steel tubing
  • CNC cut 3/16" steel top hat
  • CNC machined bearing mount tube - TIG welded

Custom designed and built by Spohn Performance for use on our threaded strut sleeves. Includes nylon tipped (no-mar) set screws. BMW 1-series M Coupe (2011) teaser video

Tue, 31 Aug 2010

BMW is continuing to build up the hype ahead of the launch of its next M car – this is a teaser video giving us our first glimpse of the undisguised BMW 1-series M Coupe What’s new is our first look at this hot 1-series’ butch bodykit, complete with an engorged front bumper and triple air intakes. There are CSL-alike 19-inch wheels too, and sitting between the cross-drilled front discs is a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six, producing 335bhp and 369lb ft. Drive, thankfully, goes to just the rear wheels, and they’ll be a choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. There’ll be an M diff too, but we hear it might be on the options list as BMW’s money men fight to keep the list price under £40k.

BMW Z4 (2009): first official pictures

Sat, 13 Dec 2008

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 13 December 2008 23:00 After the leaked Z4 photos last week, today we finally see the first official photos of the new BMW Z4. The 2009-spec Z4 gains a folding hard top and offers a softened design language over the flamboyant banana curves and arcs of today’s roadster. Think of a bar of a soap that’s been through some palm duties and you get the idea.

BMW 1 Series M Coupé revealed

Thu, 09 Dec 2010

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe revealed The whole argument about whether BMW would use the iconic ‘M1′ moniker on a lowly 1-Series car was finally settled (not that we ever had any doubts) back in July when BMW officially confirmed that the 1-Series M car would be known as the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. And it was happening. The official announcement saw BMW reveal an official video of the 1 Series M Coupe out on the track sporting the ubiquitous black and white swirls of camouflage so beloved of car makers with a new model to tease.
