    SEMA Pasadena: Public show in SoCal raises money for charity

    Though we weren't at the very first SEMA show 42 years ago at the National Guard Armory in Los Angeles, the inaugural SEMA Cares Show and Shine last weekend must have been a lot like that first show four decades ago. SEMA Cares was held in the Pasadena Convention Center in Southern California. Organizers sold out all 155 spots for cool cars and all 25 booth spaces for vendors.

    The Volvo V40 (pictured) gets Volvo’s new Drive-e engines Last year Volvo revealed its new, efficient and flexible Drive-e engines and plans to offer them in the S60, V60 and XC60 with a 179bhp D4 and a 302bhp T6. Now, the new Volvo V40 is getting Drive-e powertrains. Both the V40 and the V40 Cross Country are getting Drive-e engine options, with both the D4 diersel and T5 petrol coming on-stream from May 2014.

    The new Continental GTC helped Bentley sales hit highs in 2011 Bentley has seen sales in 2011 return to the levels of 2007, with sales up by 37 percent over 2010. China is now Bentley’s second biggest market. It doesn’t seem five minutes since Bentley were getting their highly skilled workforce to make furniture to keep them busy, so slow were sales as the recession started to bite.
