Lewis Hamilton takes pole at British Grand Prix – Mercedes front row
Sat, 29 Jun 2013Lewis Hamilton & Nico Rosberg (pictured) celebrate their front row at the British Grand Prix Mercedes may have turned in some stunning qualifying laps this year (although their race performance hasn’t really matched up) but Hamilton’s pole at the 2013 British Grand Prix was a stunner – almost half a second (0.452s) ahead of team mate Nico Rosberg. The pole for Hamilton – his first since the Chinese Grand Prix – was a corker (as was Rosberg’s, to be fair) and left the Red Bulls relegated to the second row with Vettel in third and the newly ‘retired’ Mark Webber in fourth. But whether the stunning lap by Hamilton presages an impossible task for Red Bull tomorrow, we’ll have to wait and see.
BMW ActiveE: Electric BMW 1-Series at Geneva
Thu, 10 Feb 2011BMW 1-Series Electric - BMW ActiveE It’s been a while since we first saw the BMW ActiveE, the BMW 1-Series with the gubbins from the MINI E bolted under the bonnet (and various other places) and intended as the next instalment in BMW’s plans to charge its customers to do real-world development and research. In fact, the electric BMW 1-Series first crossed our radar in December 2009 and went on to be shown as a concept at the Detroit Motor Show a month later. And now it’s back at the Geneva Motor Show in March, only now it’s production-ready.
Infiniti Etherea Concept at Geneva
Mon, 14 Feb 2011Infiniti Etherea - Infiniti's Compact Concept for Geneva Last week we had one of Infiniti’s Rolf Harris doodles come in to tease an entry-level Infiniti Concept scheduled to make anĀ appearanceĀ at Geneva. This week, with two weeks to go until the press days at the Geneva Motor Show, that Infiniti Concept gets a name and we also get a photo to put to the name – The Infiniti Etherea. Etherea seems a bit pretensious for an entry-level Infiniti, but it’s not a name that will make it through to the production car it spawns.
