Enzo Ferrari biopic back on track

Fans of Enzo Ferrari and the company he founded could finally get the film they have wanted: A film company is getting closer to putting the long-delayed biopic into production, Variety reports. LA-based Cecchi Gori Pictures is said to be in talks with a well-known American director to helm the film, based on a script by Troy Kennedy Martin and David Rayfield. The script and the film project have been in gestation for years, but the project had been plagued by delays.

Early Mercedes sells for £720,000

ONE OF the oldest surviving Mercedes cars has sold at auction for an astronomical fee. The Mercedes Simplex 28/32 HPs Phaeton eventually sold for £720,000 at the Coys auction house True Greats sale in London. Still in complete and roadworthy condition, the car was reported to be in superb, drivable condition before its sale, which was the first time it had been auctioned in its near-109-year life.

This is Volkswagen’s New Compact Coupé (or NCC for short), a new coupé concept car just unveiled at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. Under the bonnet is a 148bhp/177lb ft direct-injection and turbocharged 1.4-litre TSI engine, which drives the front wheels via a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
