Wed, 30 Oct 2013The most recent advance in vehicle safety has to be the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) – a sophisticated suite of sensors and electronics that monitors objects in front of your car, automatically applying the brakes for you if it senses you’re heading to hit something. Up until now these auto-brake features have not been rated, but ahead of a new 2014 test that will include AEB systems in its overall safety star scoring, Euro NCAP has put the some of the vehicles already equipped with this technology through their paces. Armor-plated SUV among extravagant debuts at Top Marques Monaco show

Included in the debuts were Gemballa, Fisker, Keating, Tirrito and Conquest, the latter of which showed off a ridiculously large, armor-plated SUV called the Knight XV that reportedly took organizers three hours just to maneuver it through the hall doors. A survey by Ford shows that many drivers don’t carry out simple checks that waste fuel. In the survey, it was found that 76% of drivers in the UK do not check their car’s tyre pressures regularly, which has a major impact on fuel consumption as underinflated tyres cause excess strain on the engine.
