The 560 stands for the 560ps (552bhp) that’s come courtesy of the all-new 5.2-litre V10 engine (previously 5.0-litre and 520bhp – and 20kg heavier), the 4 relates to the four-wheel drive system that usually splits torque 30/70 front-to-rear.

The Range Rover at 40 Whatever you may think of the Range Rover, it is a motoring icon. Iconic is bandied around at the drop of a hat these days, but the original Range Rover really was a game-changer. For the first time there was a vehicle that was just as good on road as off and pretty much single handedly started the luxury SUV craze which – despite the naysayers and eco-mentalists – shows no real sign of abating.

Goodwood Revival 2011

The middle week of September was a crowded one for the CDN team with coverage of the Frankfurt motor show but we still found time to get our period tweeds out and head down to Sussex to cover the Revival weekend. This historic motor racing festival runs over three days, with Friday set aside for qualifying and practice, and races on Saturday and Sunday, with aggregated times to decide the final winner. Special themes this year included 50 years of the E-Type and this years' Fordwater Trophy grid was composed exclusively of this classic front-engined GT, including Lightweight and Low Drag versions that took on the Ferraris and Cobras of the period.
