What is it? - These are emergency keys, also known as an “insert” keys for the vehicles listed in the compatibility section above that use a “smart key” or “proximity key” system. The emergency keys slide into your existing remote fobs- they have no remote functions. They are used to open the door and start the car in the event the battery in your dies. These make great backup keys at a much more affordable price than whole replacement electronic keys.
All you’ll have to do is have the keys cut once you receive them. This can be done at a hardware store or any other place that cuts keys like Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.
