This Genuine GM Flame Arrestor is
New Old Stock
in the Original Old Blue and White GM Box.
It is described in my old G.M. Chevrolet parts book as
ARRESTOR, FLAME C/CASE VENT
It is listed for 1964-1965 Corvette with Fuel Injection.
It is also listed for 1967 Chevrolet and Corvette 427 with 3 Two Barrel Carbs.
Group 1.745. Part Number 3857476.
Stamped around both sides of the center housing is the wording
“FISHER CORP. PAT. NO. 3287094”.
The finish on this NOS part is a sort of flat black color unlike the silver or gloss black finish on the reproductions.
I personally purchased all of my NOS Corvette parts from Chevrolet starting around 1965 and ending in the early 80s.
These parts have the older GM labels and packaging. I have found that usually with GM parts the closer to the manufacture date of the car, the more accurate the parts are as to color, fit, finish, etc.
