BAR AND PLATE 27X5.5X2.5 FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER
Bar and plate intercooler cores function identically to the tube and fin core, with the exception that charge air travels through rectangular shaped passages that have more surface area, thus improving cooling of the air charge. The advantage to using this type of intercooler is that because the bar and plate core design affords up to 35% larger surface area for cooling, a physically smaller intercooler can be used and still retain the cooling efficiency of a larger tube and fin design. This is important for a builder who has a vehicle with a small opening in the front of it or where there are immovable obstructions present. However there is only one disadvantage to the bar and plate design. The bar and plate intercooler is heavier due to the larger surface area and denser fin design. The benefits of more overall power will quickly dissolve the weight issue in most tuner minds.

38MM WASTEGATE
Wastegates provide a means to control the boost pressure of the turbo charged engine. Wastegates work to bypass exhaust flow from the turbine wheel. Bypassing the exhaust flow reduces the power driving the turbine wheel to match the power required for a given boost level. Similar to the BOV, the Wastegates uses boost pressure and spring force to regulate the flow bypassing the turbine. Wastegates are bolted to exhaust manifold or header. The advantage of external Wastegates is that the bypassed flow can be reintroduced into the
exhaust stream further downstream of the turbine. This tends to improve the turbines performance.

TURBO TIMER
A TURBO TIMER IS AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE DESIGNED TO KEEP AN AUTOMOTIVE ENGINE RUNNING FOR A PRE-SPECIFIED PERIOD OF TIME IN ORDER TO AUTOMATICALLY EXECUTE THE COOL-DOWN PERIOD REQUIRED TO PREVENT PREMATURE TURBO WEAR AND FAILURE. A TURBO TIMER CAN BE PROGRAMMED TO LEAVE THE ENGINE RUNNING FOR A PRE-SPECIFIED PERIOD OF TIME EVEN AFTER THER DRIVER HAS EXITED AND LOCKED THE VEHICLE. AFTER A PERIOD OF DRIVING WHEN A TURBOCHARGER HAS BEEN WORKING HARD, IT IS IMPORTANT TO LET THE ENGINE RUN AT IDLE SPEED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, ALLOWING THE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY TO COOL FROM THE LOWER GAS TEMPERATURES IN BOTH THE EXHAUST AND INTAKE TRACTS. AT THE SAME TIME THE LUBRICATING OIL FROM THE ENGINE IS ABLE TO CIRCULATE PROPERLY SO THE TURBINE WONT BURN THE LUBRICATING OIL THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE TRAPPED WITHIN THE CHARGER WITH THE TURBINE ROTATING AT HIGH SPEED.
