How do I determine which adapter I need?

These adapters are used when matching pipes of different sizes or when using larger mufflers on factory pipes, etc.  The adapters have two dimensions, a large dimension and small dimension.  The two dimensions will be measured as either an inside or outside diameter.  Some adapters are designed to adapt pipes to each other, while others adapt tips, mufflers, converters, and other component parts to a different sized pipe.

When adapting two pipes to each other, you need to measure the outside diameter of the two pipes, and then select an adapter with the required inside diameter dimensions.  The adapter will have an xxxID - xxxID measurement where xxx denotes the pipe size and will be listed as a pipe to pipe adapter.  These types adapters cannot be used to adapt components like tips or mufflers without buying additional parts such as pipes and clamps.

When adapting components such as mufflers and tips to a different sized pipe, you need to know the ID of the component part and the OD of the pipe you need to adapt to.  The adapter will have an xxxOD - xxxID measurement where xxx denotes the pipe size and will be listed as a component to pipe adapter.  If you buy an ID to ID adapter, you will need an extra piece of pipe and will need additional weld joints and/or clamps.

Adapters that adapt from one size pipe to another (both ends slip over exhaust pipe) are called pipe to pipe adapters.  Adapters that fit inside a component as described above, and fit over a pipe on the other are known as component to pipe adapters.  This listing is for a component to pipe adapter.

Anatomy of an adapter

Our adapters are pretty simple units.  They consist of a piece of pipe that either slips into a component or into a pipe on one end, but over a pipe of the other.  They can then be welded or clamped.  Units that make small changes are made from a single piece of tubing, but some adapters that make more dramatic changes may be made from multiple pieces that have to be welded together.  We have made our adapters shorter than most competitors to give you more room to work around bends and obstacles.

Warranty

We are so confident in the quality of our adapters, that we offer a guarantee that our adapters will not fail do to corrosion, cracking, or splitting for 5 years/50,000 miles, whichever happens first.  This warranty does not cover damage that may be the result of improper use, including, but not limited to: road damage, overheating, missing hangers, broken motor mounts, etc.  If for any reason our adapter fails under normal use, we will replace it free of charge.  Our warranty does not cover labor costs or other installation costs.  It also does not cover any incidental or consequential damages.

Due to issues we have been having with the United States Postal Service, namely lost or misdirected packages, no accountability for lost or misdirected packages, the lack of a good tracking, and the lack of customer service when a problem does arrise. We are encouraging all buyers who wish to receive their items in good time with minimal hassle to select UPS as the shipping method. UPS has shown that they are more consistent on their delivery times, and their tracking system is much better, and the incidence of lost packages is much lower.
