The very first Sockets offered by Joseph Johnson and William Seideman, was in 1920 and you are looking at one of them!
They made this original Steel finish Overstrike style only until 1924, when they offered 7/8 and 9/32 inch drive. Also 3/8 inch drive.
This is A 5/8 inch Square drive with the "S/O" Over-strike markings. 1920-24 Only! A 1-7/16 inch in A hex jaw.
The S--overstrike is faint, but the pictures show it.
I have looked at several of these and the over strike is different on all of them, indicating that these guys were hand stamped with A ball pien and A chisel.
Please look carefully at the inside pictures, as you can Still see the swage marks from the press!
