"Ok, I am all done and have tested the american shifter. For a background I owned several lokar and gennie shifters in the past. I have never owned a B&M. Gennie was my preferred selection because of the side action. So here is the low down based on my experience.
Parts Out Of Box
The american shifter parts are well packed and come in a color box. The brackets seem to be a little thicker then lokar and much more adjustable then gennie. The main shifter body is machined out of 1 part cast and is done very well. The upper shifter part is also machined and uses 2 arms on bearing to active the side shift. All the hardware was standard and included some extra parts as indicated in the instructions. The design of the parts was done in a way that gives you more freedom in installation and adjustment then lokar and gennie.

Stock Shift Knobs
Lokar knob is really nice, american shifter knob includes 3 color oring to match your interior. These are cool, but I hate orings so I just took it off. Gennie came with no knob ( sold extra).

Bracket Colors
The gennie shifter came in silver and looked modern. I am not a fan of gold, and american shifter was a bright zinc gold. The lokar was a flat gold and I heard also come in black. [NOTE: All brackets are covered by shift boot and are not normally visible in most installation]

Installation
The gennie shifter was the easiest to install as it had the fewest parts, however it took the longest to set up as you had to adjust the nss and brackets to really make it fit. My lokar and american shifter installed in about the same time, but the big difference was the adjustability of the american shifter. You can tell who ever designed the american shifter did their homework as many of the brackets are adjustable. This made it much simpler to install and adjust. Also the top plate lets you mount the shifter as a front, mid, or rear mount. This is great because you no longer need to cut your tunnel to line up your shifter.

Operation
Gennie
Operated smooth and troublefree, but was a little stiff to shift. The lack of a push button lets you put any type of knob on the shifter. The feedback is great as you do not need to look to see what gear you are in.
Lokar
Worked good but the button rattled a little, and there was little feedback from the gates. If you like a super smooth shifter you really like the operation, but I like some feedback so I know what gear I am in by feel not look.
American Shifter
The american shifter offered the best of both worlds as you could shift from pushing a button or side detent. This shifter was the only one that you could adjust to your preference of feedback and activation sensitivity. There are 3 adjustments you can tune to your preference. This shifter was also the only one that had 2 bearings to make the action super smooth. The only downside I saw was it took a little time for me to get use to looking at the shifter push button, and not using it as I side shift most of the time. Simple fix is to install a non push button knob like a pool ball.

Conclusion
The american shifter parts are all marked patent pending and it is clear who ever designed this reinvented the shifter and made it install and operate better as they one upped the lokar and gennie shifters in most cases. The shifter looks like no other shifter I ever seen before, and works pretty d*mn good.
