You can do it yourself with these plans

Description

Why pay big bucks to some rod shop when you can make your own Model A Frame for a fraction of the cost? My Model A Frame looks and works the same but cost a whole lot less! Materials are inexpensive and readily available. My cost for materials was only a small fraction of what the pre-made frame cost! You can do it yourself with these plans! Assembly is easy and requires no more tools than it would to mount the suspension to one of those expensive chassis shop frames. I show you how to take a piece of steel tube and shape it to the correct contours of a Ford frame the same way the hot rod shops do it. The Model A frame can be constructed from steel tube to provide a strong backbone for your Hot Rod. Frames made with these plans will be much stronger than a boxed original frame. Simple modifications can be made to the tube frame to change the ride height of the suspension. Application: 1928 to 1931 Model A Fords - This Frame will also work on many other cars of the same era with little or no modifications Options: When used with our Universal Frame Modifications plans the builder may build a stock or lowered chassis. Stock or suicide front crossmember. The drawing package includes:Six (6) big 11x17" pages showing you how make all parts, assemble them and then install the finished product successfully on your car. In addition to the drawings listed below you also will receive a Bill of materials and Full assembly instructions

    FAQ

Where do I buy the materials? The frame is made of readily available steel tube and plate. Is any special machining required? NONE! What years do the frames fit? They will fit a stock bodied 1929 1930 or 1931 Ford car or pickup. They will also fit fiberglass 29 30 or 31 bodies. Will the frame fit my Willys Pontiac Plymouth Chevrolet Dodge Fiats Anglia Thames Prefect Oldsmobile Buick Model T etc, ? Many of the cars manufactured around the same time as the Model A are very similar in dimensions. I believe that frames for these cars can be made using the principles used to make the Ford frame with only minor dimensional changes.
