This is a "NEW" not rebuilt or re-wound unit. It is not an 80 year old armature that possibly had a bent or pitted shaft. We have seen enough of those and decided it was time to produce a high quality piece for years of service. The ever increasing rewinding fees alone made the decision for us. First of all careful attention was given to the metalurgy. We located a manufacturer that could produce a quality product in a TS16949 certified facility. This manufacturer currently produces electrical products for OEM ( Original Equipment Manufacturer) suppliers. All dimensions in its making were held to strict engineering tolerances. This unit has the 5/8 inch shaft used from 1928-1931.
The materials chosen were at least equal to or to surpass the original quality. High grade copper and electric motor grade steel were used to assure consistent torque performance. The commutator has 23 bars as original. All insulation is of high grade as used in heavy diesel applications. The lamination stacks and shafts are made of all new materials. All bushing surfaces were polished to specifications. Upon arrival we tested it for fit and performance. The result being a quality part that will offer many years of service.
