You are bidding on a NEW, EK Brand GOLD finish MVXZ  'Quadra X'-ring (advanced sealed o-ring type) motorcycle chain. The size is 530 x 120 links. This chain does come with a rivet master link. Tensile strength on this chain is 9,300 lbs/ft. (the higher the number the more torque you can put on this chain and the longer it will resist elongation. The Wear Index on this chain is 1500, whereas a standard (non o-ring) chain is 100.  Because of the strength rating, and for optimum safety, this chain comes with a Rivet Type masterlink.

The finish on this chain is Gold.  And although the gold chain isn't stronger than the standard finished steel model, they are more corrosion resistant because of the Zinc oxide finish which is what gives the gold coloring.  So, if you ride in the rain, or park your bike outside, or live in a coastal area, a gold finish chain is probably worth the investment - besides looking trick.  The inner links are also coated, but with silver - so the overall brilliance of the chain is brighter then other all gold chains.  (Beware- not all 'gold' chains have both the inner and outer plates finished this way- like most DID chains.  Which, to me, is sort of pointless, unless its only done for the look.  Of course this is probably why Suzuki uses a painted on, yes 'painted', finish only the outermost sideplate on some of their newer models.)

You won't find a better finish on a chain. These are the brightest and smoothest finish of any chain out there. If you have a show bike and aren't using an EK Gold, Chrome, or Colored chain then your missing something.

This chain will fit about 90% of all bikes on the road. Basically, anything originally equipped with 530 size chain and sprockets with 120 links or less. The extra links are typical on a performance type chain so that you can cut them to fit applications that have been altered- either with increased teeth on the rear sprocket and/or with lengthened swingarms. If your unsure of your chain size and/or length, then email me and I can confirm it for you before you bid- no problem.

This is a very high quality chain and will give superior performance and last much longer than a standard chain(8-9 times longer) and 20-30% longer than a standard o-ring chain.

What is Quadra X-ring?

The reason this chain lasts longer and is called an 'X-ring' is because of the shape of the sealing rings. Instead of just being a traditional 'o-ring' squished in between the chain sideplates, the ring has a cross section in the shape of an 'X'. This design creates less friction (which also produces more horsepower), creates less heat, naturally has twice the number sealing edges to keep the good stuff in and the bad stuff out, and creates an extra 'pool' of lubricant.  The diagram below shows how it works.

For the Do-it-yourselfer, we also offer premium chain tool kits that will allow you to cut your old chain off, cut your new chain to length, press the masterlink together evenly and accurately, then rivet the masterlink pins for a strong secure connection. We will discount the price of a rivet/breaker tool by $10 when purchased with a chain.  And I know your first thought about the price is that its an awful lot to spend on a tool that you‘ll only use once. However, you will most likely use it more than you think since you have it. And its less than a couple of hours of shop labor to pay someone else to do the work - let alone a half day of your time taking your bike to a shop and waiting for them to get to it. And you can spend less on a rinky-dink chain tool , but will most likely be very disappointed with it after you bust your knuckles several times and then it turns out the masterlink is on crooked and ruined, and ruins your weekend of riding.
