This is factory original I purchased it in London (at Motor Books) for £ 9.95 in 1983; now according to the eminently trustworthy Bank of England Inflation Calculator that is equivalent to £ 30.28 in 2015 British Pounds. (I won't quibble about the 1/3 year into 2016…

And (as I am in the USA) I need to convert that to dollars, so, (according to Googles currency exchange) the venerable British pound is trading at 1.44 to the dollar...

So, that is $43.71.

Now, you say, "what about inflation!" To which I retort, "what about storage!" "oh, bother, it's a 'wash'"

Let's go with the $43.71 -- I have kept this safely, after all, for 33 years and 3 months and 33 days... (Which is really 33 years and 4 months and 2 days but that's just unpoetic...)
