The 9 pin configuration is on the original kart.  Minimoto changed it about a year later to only ONE 6 pin connector.  

The JEEP brand has different connectors all together.  


Trouble shooting:

The classic symptom of a broken controller is when the kart goes 10 feet, beeps and stops.  To test the battery and the motor, put the kart up on blocks, disconnect both the battery and motor at the controller then connect them together.  If they are OK the kart will hit top speed in about 1 second.  If the wheels spin you probably have a bad controller.  If the wheels do not spin then it's probably the battery or charger.  I've never seen or heard of a motor being bad but I have had a bad battery and charger.

I was tired of seeing this Great toy broke sitting in the garage for over a year.  They didn't make them any longer and no one made a controller to replace the original.  With my friends assistance we figured out the wiring, bought a generic 36 volt controller with reverse, created a cable kit and now all four of our karts work great.  Forward, reverse (not with this controller), brake / power cut off, charging, acceleration and on/off switch.  We created the cable kit to adapt between the controller and the kart because we didn't want to cut the connectors on the new controller and if the controller goes bad a new one will work with the wire kit.  I've had the same prototype in my kart for 6 years now.

4.   I will charge a battery with it in stalled in my kart.

You take the old one out and put the new one in.  It's plug and play.  That easy.  


If this does not get your kart working again I will buy it back after 14 days, assuming it still works.  No problem.


A few rules to making a controller last a long time.

These controllers are somewhat fragile.  If you drop it or have a head on collision in the kart the controller might cease to work.  If the box comes damaged

from the post office please file a claim if it doesn't work.  At the same time I will send you another one.  If you do happen to break it in a wreck or just need to replace it I can tell you where to buy just the controller.  You just disconnect the pig tails I made and put them on the new one.

1.   When you charge the kart, plug the charger into the kart FIRST then into the wall.  This prevents polarity damage.

2.   If you are going to let it sit for a log period of time unplug the battery.  Charge it every month or so.  It increases the life of the battery and controller.

      I think these were the main causes for the original ones to go bad.  I still have the original prototype in my kart after 5 years.


A couple more things.

There are 2 extra connectors on the controller for brake lights and power lights they are not used.

There are no connections for the training switch or low battery buzzer on the controller, so leave those disconnected on the kart.  They were

annoying anyway.  


A NEW idea:  I use some thin foam to ship the controller in.  You can cut that into 4 pieces. Take one piece and 

secure it to the bottom of the controller before you set it in the kart.  Secure it with a rubber band, tape, tie wrap.  That will absorb some of

the shock from the road.  Don't cover the whole thing.  It needs air.  They get hot.
