DescriptionThis auction is for a vintage Weston Electrical Instruments Co. Model 354 Ammeter. The serial number is 81,175. This is a very early model, produced before the patents were granted (1925 or earlier).
The unit is untested, and besides the broken lead appears to be in excellent condition. There is some chipping black paint on the brass that could be removed by someone with the correct know how. The needle sways easily when rocked and returns to zero. The larger copper terminal shows signs of oxidation, but when removed the threads underneath are nearly perfect. I have no reason to believe that this ammeter would not function perfectly if somebody could repair the broken terminal.
The meter is untested, and I therefor cannot speak to the functionality of it
