The CDL3 Track Kit
is a cost-effective, plug-in Dash Logger solution that offers professional level features without the need for a custom installation. The kit is quick and easy to connect, requiring no previous experience with MoTeC systems. Each component simply plugs into the professionally wired and terminated loom, which is labelled to identify the corresponding connector.

The kit is expandable and can be adapted to suit various applications.

•The CDL3 will connect directly to the factory ECU of many late model vehicles using the plug-in OBD-II adaptor, providing access to important engine data.
•Customers with MoTeC ECUs can connect to the CDL3 with our plug-in CAN or RS232 adaptors. Some other aftermarket ECUs may also connect with these looms.
•A pre-wired, terminated I/O Loom is available, or customers can use their own.

For the CDL3 Track Kit the following upgrades are now included as standard:  


8 MB Data Logging

Allows recording of input data (e.g from sensors and ECUs) to the CDL3's 8 MB internal logging memory and includes use of MoTeC's i2 Standard data analysis software. i2 Pro can be used by purchasing a Feature Licence.


12 I/O Upgrade

12 I/O Upgrade, activates additional CDL3 inputs and outputs.

It allows for:

•Wiring of 6 sensors into the CDL3 using either a custom loom or MoTeC's pre-wired CDL3 I/O Loom. This professional quality terminated loom adds 4 analogue voltage inputs and 2 analogue temperature inputs.
•Use of 2 digital and 3 speed inputs. These are already pre-wired into the button lead of the CDL3 Terminated Loom.
•Use of 4 auxiliary outputs; these will require custom wiring.


SOFTWARE


CDL3 Dash Manager Software

This Windows-based software is designed for setup and management of the CDL3 display and data logging system. A configuration file is generated offline and then sent to the CDL3. In many cases the CDL3 in the Track Kit will be supplied with a configuration file preloaded.

NOTE: i2 Standard data analysis software is included with CDL3 Data Logging, while i2 Pro Licences can be purchased to provide more advanced analysis features.


ACCESSORIES


ECU Adapter Looms

These looms enable the CDL3 to connect quickly and easily to your vehicle's ECU - whether factory or aftermarket - to access important engine data for display and/or logging. Some of the common channels received are:

•Engine RPM
•Throttle position (engine)
•Engine temperature
•Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP)
•Inlet air temperature
•Mass Air Flow (MAF)
•Barometric pressure
•Load point
•Exhaust temperature


The loom you will need depends on the ECU in your vehicle:

CDL3 to OBD-II Loom

The OBD-II loom is a plug-in adapter that connects the CDL3 terminated loom (supplied in CDL3 Track Kits) to the standard, on-board diagnostics port of many modern vehicles.

This enables the CDL3 to display and log a selection of channels, which differs from car to car.

Vehicle compatibility will vary from region to region, but as a guide most cars built after 2007 have an OBD-II connector.

CDL3 to CAN ECU Loom

This plug-in adapter joins the CDL3 terminated loom (supplied in CDL3 Track Kits) to the standard MoTeC CAN communications connector used by MoTeC M84, M400, M600 or M800 ECUs. It makes 70+ ECU channels available to the CDL3.

This loom will also work with other manufacturers' CAN-based ECUs, with the exception that the round AMP connector must be removed and replaced with a suitable connection for the relevant ECU.

CDL3 to RS232 ECU Loom

The RS232 ECU loom joins the CDL3 terminated loom (supplied in the CDL3 Track Kits) to the D9 RS232 communications connector used by MoTeC M4, M48 or M8 ECUs.

This loom will also allow connection to many other RS232-based aftermarket ECUs; custom communication templates may be required.

The RS232 ECU loom can provide 40+ ECU channels to the CDL3.


Other Accessories

CDL3 I/O Loom

This is a high quality, ready made loom that adds 4 analogue voltage inputs and 2 analogue temperature inputs to your CDL3 terminated loom, quickly and easily. The loom has been made so that it is simple to install, with minimal wiring required. Each of the six 2.5 metre leads is individually twisted and heat shrunk for a professional finish.

Curly Cord

Our plug-in curly cord allows the CDL3 Track Kit buttons to be moved onto the steering wheel with ease. The loom is pre-terminated with a 6 pin DTM, and has 6 straight through wires, allowing for additional buttons if required.


TECHNICAL SUPPORT



MoTeC’s professional, race-grade electronics are sophisticated and therefore it is highly recommended that installation is performed by a professional installer.  It is NOT advised for the average installer.  An advanced understanding of electrical systems is necessary.  Fischer Motorsports will support all sales and also offers professional grade wiring harnesses and installation services for all applications.  We have 10+ years of professional race experience based upon MoTeC control and specialize in Power train, Chassis, Drivetrain, and Data programming both at our facilities, onsite customer dyno/track support, or even remote support.  Please remember that if you cannot find the time or finances to do the job right the first time, you will ultimately end up looking for time or funds to do it over again.  Select us or find a qualified installer, it will ultimately increase your results and minimize future expenses or downtime related to improper setup or installation.

Returns

All sales are final. None of our items are returnable or refundable unless approved by Fischer Motorsports.

A Return Authorization may be issued in certain cases where Fischer Motorsports authorizes a return, refund or exchange. All returns and cancellations will be charged a 20% re-stocking fee. You must contact us via email and request for your case to be reviewed.

RA numbers expire 15 days after they are issued. Items returned without an RA number or using an expired RA number will be refused.
