Merlin III iron engine blocks are an affordable and reliable way to build your new high-power big-inch Chevy engine! They are machined on state-of-the-art CNC milling centers to "blueprint" quality specs and are much stronger, with better oiling and better cooling capacity than factory GM blocks.

· This block is shipped @ 4.495"-rough bore (4.495"-rough bore also available; see our eBay store for info) finish hone required on all blocks · 4.630"- Max bore recommended (sonic-check recommended)
· 4-bolt Nodular Iron main caps w/ 1/2" main studs at all 5 locations; center-3 caps splayed
· 4.750" stroke clearance @ 10.200" Deck Height +/- .005" (9.800" deck with 4.375" stroke clearance also available; see our eBay store for info) · Decks are even and parallel to 0.002" · Minimum .700" thick deck
· Std. cam location (all blocks)
· Std. size cam journals · True "priority main" oiling system · Dual-drilled oil pan rails
· 2-pc rear main seal · Lifter valley head bolt bosses
· Blind head bolt holes to prevent water leaks
· Well-supported main web and cam tunnel · All threaded OE block holes for starter, clutch ball, etc.
· Accepts stock timing cover, fuel pump, and oil filter mount · Includes rod, main and cam bearings, freeze plugs, and dowel pins
· If using aftermarket roller lifters, +.300" taller lifters are required
*Note: This block must be finish-honed and/or bored, and cleaned/inspected before assembly.
