FOR YOUR 1940s PONTIAC,BUICK,OLDSMOBILE PASSENGER VEHICLE CHROME LOCKING TRUNK HANDLE WITH KEYS. 

From flat part of lock cylinder to end of shaft is 5 and 3/8 inches. Indented collar part is 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Lock part is a little more than 1 and 1/2 inches from the edge of the collar to the center of the brass lock shaft.   Main shaft is 1/2 of an inch in diameter.  Threaded part is 5/16 in diameter. I think it fits 42-47 Buick and some 41 Pontiacs.
