NO WELDING or Fabrication involved. this kit uses factory holes and can easily be returned to factory if you choose to do so.  the only cutting that would be required is if you choose to remove the torsion rods, which we have done so in our hardtop wagons. our gas struts are custom made to accommodate the torsion rods which are why you wouldn't need them. the hatch functions a lot smoother with out them, but even with them and our struts is better than the factory liftgate support set up. hatch opens very smoothly.   installation time ( not including torsion rod removal ) is about 15-20 minutes. again, this is a bolt on kit.

these struts will work on all 4 door wagons for 1957-1958 buick and oldsmobile, not just the fiesta and caballero. 

the kit shown is a POLISHED stainless kit. the struts ARE POLISHED and brackets are MATTE stainless. the only thing that's not stainless are the upper strut mounts for the body.
