This is a new replacement neutral safety switch.It was made here in the U.S. many years ago. The brand is Premier. Its part number is 17S-5 which is the same as DR411.
A neutral safety switch allows current to pass from the ignition switch to the starter when the lever is placed in the P or N position.
It is located on the lower steering column or the floor shifter of automatic transmission vehicles.
Some applications:
- 1958-66 with Turbo Hydromatic transmission
- 1964-66 with Powerglide transmission except SS
